Moon Pod vs. Lovesac: Which is the better bean bag?

Bean bag chairs have gotten a considerable upgrade. You’ve probably heard about big-name bean bags taking the internet by storm due to their size and comfort. Are these internet trends worth the hype? Which chair should you get for yourself? Read on to learn more about the Moon Pod and the Sac and decide for yourself which is the better bean bag.

What is the Moon Pod?

The Moon Pod is a bean bag chair that provides comfort, anxiety relief, and a multitude of health benefits. It uses high-quality beads, a cooling cover, and a unique design that offers a zero-gravity sensation known to alleviate stress and anxiety. These features are different from a traditional bean bag chair, which does not provide the same level of support or reshape itself when you move. The chair was built to mimic the sensations of flotation therapy, which mental health professionals use to manage the symptoms of anxiety and depression.

Beanbag chairs are known for getting flat, so Moon Pod is designed to help solve this problem. Made with Expanded PolyStyrene (EPS) beads, it holds its shape while conforming to your weight and body. This comfort makes the Moon Pod a stellar choice for ergonomic support. This chair is also a sustainable choice because it is built to withstand wear and tear. Get excited to float in a Moon Pod.

What is the Lovesac?

The Lovesac is a bean bag chair made by the company Lovesac. It uses three-density recycled foam blend inserts rather than beans or beads. The soft foam in the Sac compresses while you sit in it, giving you that sunk-in, snuggly feeling while firm foam cradles and supports you. Using this unique foam blend means that the Sac holds its shape, even after hours of kicking back and relaxing. Like the Moon Pod, the foam-filled Sac can be customized with several different removable covers that are machine washable and can be changed to match your living room.

What’s the difference?

Although there are so many similarities between the Moon Pod and the Sac, there are two things that set them apart from each other. It all comes down to differences in size and cost. Here is a closer look at the differences between these two bean bag chairs.

Size Options

The Moon Pod comes in two sizes, a size designed for one person called the Classic Moon Pod and another size intended for two people called the SUPER Moon Pod. The Sac, however, has six different sizes, ranging from one person Sacs to a size that fits up to four people. If you are taller than average, you will probably appreciate the Sac’s more comprehensive size range.

The CitySac is most comparable to the Classic Moon Pod. It is approximately three feet long, and it weighs 35 pounds. The Moon Pod, on the other hand, is about four feet long and weighs 12 pounds, making it both the larger and lighter-weight option.

The Classic Moon Pod starts at $399.00, while the SUPER Moon Pod is regularly listed at $675. The Sac, on the other hand, ranges from $625 for one person to $1,650 for four people. The CitySac, which is most comparable to the Classic Moon Pod in terms of size, regularly costs $875. That means the Sac comes with a heftier price tag for a smaller bean bag.

Which bean bag is right for me?

Deciding which bean bag is most suitable for you depends on what you are looking for from your chair. The Sac tends to be a more comforting bean bag than the Moon Pod. However, the Moon Pod has reclining capabilities that the Sac doesn’t offer. If you’re looking to get the most bang for your buck, the Moon Pod offers a giant bean bag that is roughly half the cost of the Sac. However, if you’re looking for a broader range of bean bag sizes that could support a taller person or even seat more than two people, the Sac is the better choice due to its increased size selection.
